Malawi

I travelled to Malawi for a week to cover a new school feeding project for Good Morning Britain. It was part of ITV's Tackle Hunger Together campaign, and we teamed up with the UN World Food Programme to help build a school kitchen and feeding shelter that would mean every child at the nursery school would get a nutritious breakfast every day.

Malnutrition is a huge problem at the moment due to flooding and then drought which has destroyed many of their crops. It was difficult seeing just how affected some of the children were due to a lack of food. Baby Ruth was 19 months old but weighed just 6.6kg - compared to my baby Ella Rose who is 8 months old and weighs 9.3kg. We're going to follow Ruth's progress as hopefully the special help she's now been given will help save her life.
